Seabird Macaronesian Sound

Azores & Madeira

The project will update the information regarding seabird distribution and population size in Macaronesian islands of Madeira and Azores archipelagos (26 potential colonies and 5 seabird species) through low-cost and standardised passive acoustic methodologies. These methodologies have the advantage that they can be replicated filling the knowledge gaps to improve conservation measures and define species action plans, evaluate Good Environmental Status and promoting a sustainable use of biodiversity.
