LIFE4BEST project “Mesorun” (La Réunion) wins Jury’s choice award at IFRECOR 2022

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the 9th edition of the IFRECOR (Initiative française pour les récifs coralliens / French initiative for coral reefs) award ceremony was held on November 24, 2022, in the presence of Mr. Jean-François Carenco, Minister Delegate in charge of Overseas.

The Jury’s choice award (Palme Coup Cœur du jury) went to the two associations Vie Océane and Biorécif that successfully completed project Mesorun – fauna inventories in mesophotic coral ecosystems in La Réunion, Indian Ocean, funded under the 2019 LIFE4BEST call for proposals.

IUCN’s extended LIFE4BEST work group congratulates the winning team and hopes new equally exciting projects will be implemented in the near future.
